Are you looking at car seat options for your Hyundai Elantra? Well, choosing a suitable car seat for both your child and your car can be a daunting task, especially when you have a small car like the Hyundai Elantra.

The size and dimensions of your car play a crucial role in determining the type of car seat that you can use safely and comfortably.

I have invested a significant amount of time to research and put together a list of car seats that are a good fit for the Hyundai Elantra, taking into consideration the type of car seat that you will need, and the limited space of the Elantra’s backseat.

Read on to learn about some of the best car seats for your Hyundai Elantra and their features.

Dimensions: ‎ D20.7″ x W16.7″ x H24.5″

Weight & Height limits: Rear-facing (5-40 lb), Forward-facing (22-65 lb), Highback booster (40-100 lb)

Weight‎: 19.2 lbs

The Graco Slimfit3 LX 3-in-1 also called the True3Fit at Walmart is hands down the best car seat for 3 across.

Installing 3 car seats across is not easy but it’s more challenging in a smaller car like the Hyundai Elantra. But, with the Slimfit3 LX slim (16.7 inches only), it’s possible to fit 3 across safely.

Unlike the Dinono’s slim car seats the Slimfit3 LX can sit upright when rear-facing leaving enough legroom for the passengers.

Plus, it is an all-in-one car seat that grows with your little ones until they no longer need a car seat. It’s designed to fit babies from 5 up to 100 pounds.

While we don’t think this is the best car seat for your first hospital ride and you may need to start with an infant seat, it’s worth the money for a long-lasting convertible seat.

We also appreciate the mesh fabric this car seat has to keep our tiny creatures cool during hot days.

We love several Britax car seats for being so simple to install thanks to their Clicktight technology.

The Britax One4life is no different. The car seat features the Clicktight system and it’s easy to get a secure install in different models of the Hyundai Elantra.

In addition to the effortless installation, the One4life is designed to accommodate kids from birth up to 120 pounds, potentially making it the only car seat you will ever need to buy for your child.

The Britax One4life has 15 headrest positions to ensure a good as your little one grows. The padding is also thick and soft to provide a comfortable ride.

On the flip side, the Britax One4life is a heavy and bulky seat, so it’s not suitable for a 3 across in the Hyundai Elantra.

Deluxe push-on LATCH connectors

Steel reinforced frame

No-rethread harness

Graco’s Extend2Fit  (Best Compact car seat for Hyundai Elantra)

Dimensions: ‎ D21.5″ x W19.5″ x H23.5″

Weight & Height limits: Rear-facing (4-50 lb), Forward-facing (22-65 lb)

Weight‎: 19 lbs

Having a bulky seat may limit the legroom space in Hyundai Elantra for tall drivers and passengers.

To solve this issue, we recommend the Graco Extend2fit car seat. Many parents with small cars were able to get a good fit with the Extend2fit.

Graco is one of the most front-to-back compact convertible car seats in the market. Also, with the Extend2fit, you can rear-face your child until 50 lbs.

The Extend2fit is not as easy to install as the Britax but it’s not the most difficult as well. With little effort, you can get a tight installation with both LATCH and seatbelt in the Hyundai Elantra.

Other key-selling features:

Graco Snugride Snuglock 35 (Best Infant Car Seat For Hyundai Elantra)

graco snugride snuglock 35 best infant carrier for Hyundai elantra

Dimensions: ‎ D15.59″ x W18.07″ x H27.35″

Weight & Height limits: Rear-facing (4-35 lbs)

Weight‎: 7.5 lbs (Without the base)

The Graco Snugride Snuglock 35 fits perfectly in the 2012 Hyundai Elantra with no space issues. But, it’s compact enough to fit in other models as well.

Also, Graco Snugride is a super lightweight infant carrier that’s compatible with many strollers including the Mockingbird stroller

The base with its 4-position recline allows you to adjust the angle of the car seat to make it more comfortable for your baby.

And if you are planning to use it between two cars, you can easily do a baseless install with a seatbelt or just purchase an extra base and install it using LATCH in the second car.

In addition to the easy installation, the car seat clicks and connects smoothly to the base.

One thing we don’t like is that the canopy gets in the way of the handle. Also to adjust the handle you need to press on both sides which is not fun for shorter people.

Except for these two design flaws, we think that the Graco Snugride Snuglock is a safe infant carrier that is also reasonably priced.

Other key-selling features:

No-Rethread Harness

Graco Snuglock technology

Removable newborn head and body inserts

Rotating canopy with peekaboo window and visor

Rapid Remove machine-washable cover

Pros

Nuna Rava (Best Premium Car Seat for Hyundai Elantra)

Dimensions: ‎ D16″ x W19″ x H25.2″

Weight & Height limits: Rear-facing (5-50 lbs ), Forward facing (25-65 lbs )

Weight‎: 27.2 lbs

We love the Nuna Rava not just for its premium quality but for being so compact as well. If you can afford a $500 car seat for your Hyundai Elantra go for the Nuna Rava

The Nuna Rava serves as our luxurious option compared to the Graco Extendfit. It allows you to keep your child in the rear-facing position for as long as 50 pounds and later on switch to forward-facing until 65 pounds.

What makes the Nuna Rava stand out as a premium car seat is its combination of advanced safety features and top-notch materials.

It features both a sturdy steel frame and a reinforced shell for superior impact protection. It also features 10 headrest positions for comfort.

When it comes to installation, we had no issues getting a tight fit in this car with both seatbelt and LATCH.

Plus, the overall look of the Nuna Rava is sleek and stylish and this adds a touch of elegance to your Hyundai Elantra interior.
