It’s super easy to remove the detach the base from your Graco car seat.
All you have to do is squeeze the base release handle and lift the car seat out of the base. Tadaaaa!
To attach the Graco car seat to the base, align the locking bar at the front of the car seat with the locks in the base, put the car seat in the base, and push down on the front of the car seat to lock it down.
You will hear a “click” when it is locked.
Pull up on the front corners of the seat to make sure it is locked.

How to take the base off a Graco car seat (Step by Step)
To disconnect Graco car seat from the base you will need to use both hands at the same time. Follow these steps one by one.
Step 1: Before you start, raise the carrier’s handle into an upright position
Step 2: Locate the release handle or the lever button on the back of the car seat.
Note: Some Graco car seats have lever buttons to press while others have handles that you lift.
Step 3: With one hand press the lever ( or lift the release handle) located in the back of the car seat.
Step 4: Lift the car seat with both hands out of the base.
How to put back the Graco car seat into the base (Step by Step)
Now that you have successfully removed the Graco car seat from the base. You will need to put it back in.
Just follow these easy steps and you will be good to go.
Step 1: Locate the locking bar in the front of the car seat. These bars need to go into the locks of the base.
Step 2: Now, align the locking bars of the car seats with the locks of the base.
Step 3: Put the car seat into the base.
Step 4: Push down on the front of the car seat until you hear a click. The click means that the car seat is properly locked into the base.
